Detective Strategy Game

Cross Examination

Cross Examination is a conversational mystery game. You question a cast of suspects, each with their own personality, pressure level, and truthfulness. Your goal is to spot inconsistencies and push the right suspects to reveal what really happened. As you interrogate, suspects respond in character with AI-generated dialogue based on their personality and mounting pressure. Track each turn, compare statements, and decide when to make your accusation. Catch the killer before you run out of turns to win the case.

Solve each investigation by reading carefully, testing alibis, and choosing the right pressure points before you run out of turns.

How To Play

Choose a case, review the briefing, and start questioning the active suspect.

Compare every answer against the evidence log, timeline details, and earlier statements.

Use contradictions to raise pressure and force the suspect away from rehearsed answers.

How You Win

You clear the investigation by exposing enough contradictions to break the suspect’s story.

Strong evidence chains matter more than random pressure. The goal is to prove the lie, not just click through dialogue.

How You Fail

You can fail a case if you run out of turns before building enough pressure or proving the contradiction path.

Wasted questions and weak evidence choices make later turns much harder to recover.

Practical Tips

Start with timeline claims. Time and location mismatches are usually the cleanest way to crack an alibi.

Revisit the investigation log often. Earlier answers become more useful after new evidence appears.

Use evidence deliberately. The best questions are the ones that corner the suspect into a contradiction they cannot explain away.
